by Robert Stewart, Director; Professor
As you may have seen on our social media channels, the move from Scripps Hall to Schoonover Center is well underway as of this week.
On Friday (December 20, 2013), one of the final shoes will drop, the moving of the E.W. Scripps bust from the atrium of Scripps Hall to the second floor of Schoonover Center. (If you happen to be in Athens tomorrow, feel free to join us in Scripps Hall around 2:45 p.m. for the ceremonial moving of Mr. Scripps.)
As far as faculty and administrative offices are concerned, we’re now in place. Debbie DePeel, Professor Eddith Dashiell and I have been working out of Schoonover this entire week while Sharon Nickels has been overseeing the final packing up of Scripps Hall and coordinating with the university movers (great guys, by the way).
As of noon today, Sharon (or at least her packed up boxes) is in Schoonover too. Which means we’re almost done. I’ll be updating office locations on the faculty list in the coming days so students can easily locate your faculty adviser come Spring semester.
Schoonover is terrific, by the way. But we’ll always miss Scripps Hall.
