Biography
Tim Sharp has more than 30 years experience as practitioner and educator in broadcast journalism. He has worked in almost every position in the industry from television, radio and newspaper reporter to Founder and CEO of the Mountain News Network, the Mid Atlantic’s first all-news television channel. Sharp accepted a joint appointment with Ohio University in 1999 as the News Director for Ohio University’s broadcast properties and a faculty member with the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism. In 2001 he conducted market research to help establish the West Virginia State University Master’s in Media Studies program, and in 2008 completed work on an Ohio University research project to impact and improve the critical analysis and decision making skills of undergraduate students. Sharp is Married to the Kimberlee Jo Thorne-Sharp and is the father of eight children.
