Kalyango to join international scholars at IAMCR in Turkey
Assistant Professor Yusuf Kalyango will present three papers at the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) in July on the campus of Kadir Has University in Istanbul, Turkey.
Dr. Kalyango’s research topics are:
- “Media Policies as Obstacles for Social Change and Democratization in East Africa,” accepted for presentation in the International Communication Section of IAMCR.
- “Agenda Setting Effects on the Rule of Law in Southern Africa,” accepted for presentation in the Political Communication Section of IAMCR.
- “International Media Objectification of Africa’s Olympic Athletes,” accepted for presentation in the Media and Sport Section of IAMCR.
Dr. Kalyango, who teaches international journalism and broadcast courses, joined the faculty in 2008.
