The Associated Press seeks a Breaking News Staffer for its Columbus, Ohio, bureau. The staffer is a hybrid reporter and editor who aggressively pursues breaking news across Ohio and identifies stories that need further development. The staffer files stories to state lines, works closely with reporters in the field, helps coordinate coverage across multiple formats, communicates coverage plans and offers assistance to AP members and customers and collaborates with the regional editing desk in Philadelphia on stories of state, national and global interest.
