Columbus Business First seeks business reporter
Columbus Business First seeks a business reporter to provide beat coverage for its daily online and weekly print editions. Candidates should thrive on hard news coverage and enterprise reporting, and be at ease using social networking as a news delivery and reporting tool.
Duties: Beats include banking, capital markets, insurance, transportation and logistics, and nonprofit organizations. Coverage ranges from spot news to blogging to analysis to trend reporting to looks at the people behind the news. A premium is put on news that is exclusive to Business First.
Skills: Candidates must be adept at getting past the PR wall to decision-makers inside companies and business organizations. Must feel comfortable interviewing the range of business players, from C-level executives to entrepreneurs. Must have ability to write clear and compelling copy under deadline pressure. Balanced, accurate reporting is a must.
Experience: At least two years of business reporting experience preferred, but welcome seasoned non-business newspaper journalists.
