The station works with P2 cameras, Avid edit systems, and they are HD with local newscasts. Student-run online journal on Eastern European cinema is looking for editors and contributors.</p>
<p>
The East European Film Bulletin (www.eefb.org) is a non-profit project founded in January 2011. The journal would like to encourage critical dialogue about Eastern European cinema. While there has been little Anglophone journalism seriously dedicated to this subject, many Eastern European films have reached broader audiences beyond what has been known as the “iron curtain” twenty years ago. The East European Film Bulletin reports on the region with reviews and interviews (essay section coming soon).</p>

QUALIFICTIONS:</p>

<p>
Applicants should have experience in academic and non-fictional writing. Contributors: Research-related knowledge of the region preferred (Note: Most of our contributors are graduate students in Film and/or Slavic studies).</p>

QUALIFICATIONS:</p>

The successful candidate will be fluent in social media, knowledgeable about current events in the North Bay, and be able to juggle multiple deadlines. Spanish speaker is a plus. </p>

The Marketing &amp; Public Relations Manager will devise, design, implement, and lead a variety of communications and marketing projects that promote the work of the association, sell products and services, and impart information to its members. This position works with the Director of Communications and Marketing to develop, manage, and execute a yearly marketing plan in coordination with the overall communications plan and also serves as the project management lead for all marketing initiatives. The position works with staff, volunteers, and freelance personnel to develop and maintain print, email, and direct mail marketing materials as well as support materials such as website content, program guides, and other collateral pieces.</p>

<p>
RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>

<p>

Duties are:</p>

40% - Association and Event Marketing - Manage staff, freelancers, and volunteers to create appropriate marketing solutions, following yearly marketing plan, to promote association efforts, membership, and events. Write and edit content for marketing brochures, email messages, website, and other association and event collateral as needed. Manage student and freelance designers to oversee quality control and timely production of materials. Oversee creative brief and project management system in accordance with yearly marketing plan. Represent association at regional events and annual conferences with displays and photography.</p>

<p>
40% - Writing, Editing, and Publishing Online Content - Manage association website content including words, images, online forms, and supporting materials. Responsible for creating original content as well as timely updates, edits, and corrections as provided or requested. Oversee and manage marketing of association news and updates via email marketing system, tracking statistics and foreseeing trends for marketing analytics. Assist with synchronizing marketing campaigns with social media initiatives where appropriate.</p>

<p>
15% - Other Writing and Editing on Demand - In coordination with the Director of Communication, writes, edits and disseminates press releases, official association statements, research papers, Talking Stick magazine stories, and other materials as needed</p>

<p>
5% - Administrative and other duties as assigned.</p>

<p>
QUALIFICATIONS:</p>

<p>
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in writing and editing for print and electronic media, publishing website content, publicity, marketing, publication production, and disseminating news releases is required. Ability to manage multiple deadlines, possess an eye for detail, and see projects through to completion on time and on budget. Experience with electronic communication systems (website content management and mass email), desktop publishing (Adobe Creative Suite software package), photography, and journalistic writing as well as a minimum five years work experience in related field. Some out-of-state travel will be required.</p>

The Associated Press is looking for an entertainment photo planning who is not only passionate about covering entertainment related content, but who is excited to work across formats and departments to push our access to the next level. The AP is one of the only outlets where entertainment photographers, text, video and radio journalists work side-by-side and are multi-skilled. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as well as have a passion for covering and coordinating coverage of red carpets, sit-down interviews and breaking news.</p>

RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>

<p>
- Coordinate and assign photo coverage in North America. This includes managing a team of freelancers and coordinating coverage with third party content providers for access at events such as premieres, awards shows, concerts and morning shows.<br>- Ability to work well across formats. The AP entertainment department is one of the rare places in the news industry where formats work alongside and intermix during coverage. This position will require at times the ability to run different aspects of our text, broadcast and radio reports as well as work closely with our News department.<br>- Keep apprised of and forecast entertainment trends. The AP is always looking to push coverage to the next level as a leader in the entertainment industry. This role requires someone who has their finger on the pulse of pop culture who can raise our access to celebrities and events.<Br>- Develop and nurture relationships with key managers, celebrities, publicists and agents in the industry. The AP breaks news on all formats and needs someone who will advocate for industry decision makers to come to us first whether it be for baby or wedding photos, portraits or inside access at events.<Br>- Assist with the transmitting of entertainment-related photos to customers and clients worldwide. Having sound photo editing skills is a must. As the world-wide leader in photos, we place a huge emphasis on getting quality material out accurately and fast.<br>- Constantly innovate and explore new concepts in the photo and entertainment space so that AP remains ahead.</p>

QUALIFICATIONS:</p>

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience<br>- Extensive experience in covering breaking news and entertainment<br>- Strong interest in coordinating covering of pop culture for photos, social media, text, broadcast and radio<br>- Up-to-date knowledge on the top entertainment stars domestically and abroad: music, film and television<br>- Minimum three years entertainment news experience, preferably with a major media organization including established entertainment contacts, with the proven ability to nurture and sustain them<br>- Strong skill set in Photoshop, Photomechanic and MAC computer knowledge.<br>- The ability to work under pressure on tight deadlines<br>- Excellent communication skills, via phone, email or in person<br>- Knowledge of photography and equipment needs<br>- Strong track record of driving access and innovation<br>- Ability to cover events and news during nights, early morning and/or weekend shifts if/when necessary.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Nanoscale and Quantum Phenomena Institute (NQPI) at Ohio University seeks a science writer for spring quarter 2012. The intern works 10 hours each week at a rate of $9/hr. </p>

RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>

<p>
The reporting intern documents the nanoscience research of NQPI members by writing articles for the Institute’s Web site, www.ounqpi.org. The intern also designs and writes content for NQPI’s newsletter, which is mailed to faculty members at OU and other universities twice each academic year.</p>

<p>
QUALIFICATIONS:</p>

<p>
Ideally, the reporting intern should be a second or third year journalism student willing to continue in this position until graduation.</p>

<p>
The reporting intern should be a journalism student with strong interviewing skills, a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and a curiosity for science. The ability to generate story ideas and work independently is a plus.</p>

The host/reporter will be the local voice of All Things Considered, anchoring newscasts and producing spots and features for broadcast and the web. The host/reporter works under the guidance of the News Director and in concert with other station staff. Political junkies and sports fans are encouraged to apply.</p>
