<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Positively Cleveland is an independent, nonprofit organization responsible for the marketing and promotion of Cleveland Plus as the destination of choice in the Midwest for leisure and group travel, as well as meetings, conventions and tradeshows. Through these efforts, Positively Cleveland impacts the economic vitality of the area and its employment opportunities.</p>

<p>
DESCRIPTION:</p>

<p>
-21 hours/week (flexible with hours, some evenings/weekends possible)<br>-Stipend upon completion of internship<br>-Internship lasts 3 months – one semester (flexible)</p>

RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>

-Maintain/update media database<br>-Prepare press kits<br>-Maintain clippings/coverage report<br>-Fulfill media requests for promotional material<br>-Assist with department FAM (familiarization) trips &amp; organize travel writer itineraries<bR>-Assist with Positively Cleveland special events, as needed<br>-Assist with the development of hosted media itineraries<br>Assist with writing and research for website<br>-Research<br>-Write press releases and respond to media inquiries<br>-Other duties as assigned</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Office of Research Communications has two paid internships available through the PACE program for 2012-13. Both interns will write about the wide variety of research, scholarship and creative activity happening at Ohio University – from science and engineering to the arts and humanities. </p>

<p>
DESCRIPTION:</p>

<p>
The “magazine intern” will focus on developing copy and other editorial tasks for the university’s award-winning Perspectives magazine. The “online writer” will focus on covering stories for immediate use on the web. Both students will gain experience with developing stories, writing, interviewing, and working with an editor. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Office of the Vice President for Research runs two major events on campus- the Student Expo and the Science Cafés. Next year, the office will have two PACE positions:</p>

<p>
1. <b>Fall &amp; Spring- PR/Communications Program Assistant</b>, who will take the lead for the PR of the Expo and the Cafés and assist with coordination of both events.</p>

<p>
2. <b>Spring (up to 20 hours/week) – Student Expo Coordinator</b>, who will take leading on coordinating the Expo and the focus on the logistics of planning and implementing the Expo.</p>

<p>
The Office believes that these are exciting and unique opportunities. They are looking for intellectually curious, proactive, and capable people for these positions.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Scripps Notes is the information delivery system for the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism based on the scrippsjschool.org web site. The Scripps Notes editor will work with all information the school receives concerning internships, job announcements, scholarship opportunities, conferences, workshops, and special events (in the School of Journalism as well as around the university) and present it in a concise, readable, and useful way to our students, alumni, faculty, staff and other visitors to our web site. </p>

<p>
Periodic summary emails will go to all journalism students and information will be available by RSS feed and Twitter. As time allows, the editor will produce stories and video interviews to be placed on the site as well. </p>
